JSC "S.M. Kirov Plant" hands over firefighting robot to North Kazakhstan rescuers

Enterprises of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Engineering” continue to contribute to ensuring stability and security in the country by actively participating in the prevention and response to emergencies.

In the spring of 2024, the Holding’s plants assisted in flood control efforts in the West Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan regions. Rising water levels posed a threat of flooding to residential areas, and prompt measures were taken to protect the population: existing dams were reinforced and new protective barriers were constructed. Plant employees participated in building protective structures, preparing and delivering sand and clay bags to strengthen barriers at critical points.

A striking example of such emergency prevention efforts was the handover of a firefighting robot to the North Kazakhstan Department for Emergency Situations by JSC “S.M. Kirov Plant”. The modern machine will help rescuers operate in high-risk environments and reduce hazards during large-scale firefighting operations.

The 180 kg robot moves on tracks at a speed of up to 1 meter per second, can climb inclines up to 22 degrees, and overcome obstacles up to 15 cm high. It is remotely operated from a distance of up to 160 meters. Its water cannon delivers a flow of up to 40 liters per second with a range of up to 65 meters — sufficient to effectively combat fires in complex conditions.

The Department for Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan Region highly appreciated the plant’s contribution and expressed confidence that the new equipment will enhance rescuer safety and improve emergency response efficiency.

Given the changing climate and technological risks, constant preparedness for emergencies and collaboration between manufacturing and emergency response entities remain key factors for resilience.
